There is a smoke sauna and a wood heated Finnish sauna on the farm.
The smoke sauna originally dates from 1890 and was restored in 1994. It is one of the few smoke saunas of this type that can be experienced in Saaremaa today and where you can enjoy the sauna heat. Instead of the original boarded roof, there is now a s-tile roof made of old roof tiles. The wall logs in the heat room are the wall logs of a former threshing barn, and they are so old that you can see that they were cut down with an axe in the old days.
The sauna's anteroom or summer kitchen is all made of local limestone. The forge with its seal-skin bellows and oak anvil has been preserved. Beer was also brewed in the anteroom of the sauna in the summer kitchen. The only reminders of this are the beer tanks used as seats and the large beer barrel.
Heating the sauna takes 5-6 hours in summer and is done only with aspen or black alder, so that the stones of the stove do not get any tar.
We’ll tell the sauna bathers how to use the heat room to relax in the sauna and to feel good. Next to the front door of the sauna there is a cold-water barrel where you can refresh yourself if you wish. For those who wish, we offer a juniper whisk, and since the sauna also comes with beer, we have offered our guests to taste some home brew.
Price: Smoke sauna for the whole evening 180€. Finnish sauna 25€/hour.
